Only two Hindi films—”Pathaan” and “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar”—broke the Rs 100 crore barrier at the box office in the first quarter of 2023, indicating the Hindi film industry’s struggles to engage audiences. At the Filmfare Awards 2023 press conference, superstar Salman Khan, who had a cameo in “Pathaan,” discussed the problem.
However, he also pointed out that many modern filmmakers have a limited understanding of India, focusing too much on Andheri to Colaba instead of the country’s broader culture. He acknowledged that bad movies simply won’t succeed.
Salman Khan is hoping that his upcoming movie, “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan,” which is scheduled to hit theatres on April 21, will connect with viewers and aid the industry’s recovery. A talented cast, including Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh Daggubati, Jagapathi Babu, and Shehnaaz Gill, is featured in the Farhad Samji-directed movie.
