Dia Mirza, who stars in Anubhav Sinha’s latest multi-starrer film ‘Bheed’, recently shared her thoughts on the movie’s storyline. The actress stated that the film’s narrative is centered around wider issues of privilege and deprivation, power and powerlessness, humanity and inhumanity, empathy, and apathy.
The trailer for ‘Bheed’ was released on March 11 and features a strong cast, including Rajummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, Pankaj Kapur, Ashutosh Rana, and Dia Mirza. In the impactful trailer, Dia is seen playing the role of a mother whose life drastically changes when a sudden lockdown makes it impossible for her to reach her child.
Reflecting on the trailer, Dia Mirza commented, “This trailer reminds us of the vast suffering of millions during the lockdown and captures countless human stories of loss, heartbreak, and helplessness that have never been fully documented. Three years after the lockdown, this trailer also reminds us just how quickly we forget tragedies that have not impacted us directly.”
She continued, “It was easy for me to imagine the horror of being apart from my child in the middle of a massive humanitarian crisis but this story is also about much wider issues of privilege and deprivation, power and powerlessness, humanity and inhumanity, empathy, and apathy. I hope ‘Bheed’ expands our worldview and helps us to include in it, human-beings who are just like us but don’t have the luxury to live in a sanitised bubble.”
‘Bheed’ is set to release worldwide on March 24, 2023, and is expected to shed light on some of the biggest issues faced by society today. With an all-star cast and a powerful storyline, this is one film that audiences won’t want to miss.
