The upcoming Hindi film ‘Bheed’, starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar and directed by Anubhav Sinha, aims to pay tribute to the heroes of the Covid-19 pandemic who restored faith in humanity with their selfless efforts. One such hero is actor Sonu Sood, who set an example by arranging multiple transport buses for hundreds of migrants who were stuck in different parts of the country during the nationwide lockdown.
Sonu Sood’s philanthropic efforts during the pandemic have been widely praised, and his foundation, the Sonu Sood Foundation, kicked off the ‘Ghar Bhejo’ campaign to help 750,000 migrants get home and offered meals to 60,000 people.
Rajkummar Rao, who plays the male lead in ‘Bheed’, took to social media to praise Sonu’s efforts, to which the actor responded, “Really looking forward to this one brother!”
Sonu’s efforts to sponsor travel and meal kits for migrants required procuring permissions from different state authorities, and the actor was personally present to bid adieu to hundreds of migrants.
The film ‘Bheed’, which is completely monochromatic, is a story of hope, and the makers wanted to tell the stories of the heroes who made such dark times slightly better for the world. Sonu’s work during the pandemic has served as an inspiration for the movie.
As the world slowly recovers from the pandemic, it is important to remember the people who worked tirelessly to help others during these difficult times. ‘Bheed’ is a fitting tribute to these heroes, and we can’t wait to see their stories come to life on the big screen.
