
Priyanka Chopra opens up about her journey to Hollywood and how her music career played a pivotal role in her transition to the West. Prior to her role in the hit TV series Quantico, Priyanka starred in several music videos in an attempt to showcase her singing talents on an international platform.
During a recent interview with Dax Shepherd on his podcast, Armchair Expert, the actress revealed that she was facing a lot of opposition and being “cornered” in Bollywood. She explained that people were not casting her in movies and she had some issues with certain individuals in the industry.
It was at this point that her manager, Anjula Acharia, suggested that Priyanka consider building a career in music in the United States. Priyanka jumped at the opportunity, grateful for a chance to escape the politics of Bollywood and explore other parts of the world.
In an earlier interview, Priyanka shared how there was a time when people in the Indian film industry tried their best to prevent her from working. Despite facing obstacles, she persevered and continued to pursue her dreams. Her hard work and talent eventually landed her a leading role in Quantico, which proved to be a major turning point in her career.
Currently, Priyanka is gearing up for the release of the highly anticipated series Citadel, directed by the Russo brothers. The spy thriller will star Priyanka alongside Richard Madden and will be available for streaming on Prime Video starting from April 28th.
The actress is also set to make a return to Hindi cinema with the upcoming film Jee Le Zara, directed by Farhan Akhtar and co-starring Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. Fans are eagerly looking forward to seeing Priyanka back on the big screen and can’t wait to see what she has in store for them next.
